srI ranganAtha submitting “srIsailEsa dhayApAthram” thaniyan to srI varavaramuni (mAmunigaL)
thaniyan is an invocation verse glorifying a particular personality. Our AzhwArs and AchAryas have been glorified through such verses regularly. Usually, a sishya writes and submits a thaniyan to his AchArya (as done by srI ranganAtha perumAL to maNavALa mAmunigaL). It is our duty to recite these thaniyans with great love and devotion towards them meditating on the great favours they have done to us by revealing the true knowledge leading us to our upliftment.
